10 Day City & Guilds Plastering Courses
At Able Skills, we are aware that not everyone has the time or resources available to them to commit to long term training programmes to gain full training qualifications. As a result, we have devised a 10 day programme to provide you with the opportunity to learn to plaster to a very competent standard and to achieve at least 2 City & Guilds accredited units.
This opportunity will not only provide you with plastering skills taught from scratch but you will also finish your time with confidence and ‘certificated units’ to prove your competence.
These 10 days of plastering training and assessments are suitable to anyone looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the skills required to undertake plastering work. The level of the tuition is to the highest of standards and is provided by our City & Guilds approved Plastering Instructors who are also assessors and internal verifiers which ensures that they are with you all of the way, overseeing the entire training and assessing experience. Please visit the staff page to meet Brian and Spencer.

Week 2: Plastering Assessment
During the next 5 days of this 2 week Plastering Course you will have the opportunity to move towards a Plastering qualification:
Your underpinning knowledge, gained from the initial 5 days of plastering training, will enable you to move forward to undertake assessments to achieve 2 City & Guilds accredited units. You can choose which 2 of the 7 Mandatory City & Guilds units you would like to be assessed on from the following list:
- 016 - Repairing a patch in a plastered wall
- 065 - Boarding and setting a ceiling in one coat
- 066 - Applying a floating coat to wall and attached pier
- 067 - Applying and finishing the setting coat to a floored wall and attached pier
- 068 - Applying a floating coat to a square or rectangular column
- 069 - Applying a floating finishing coat to a square or rectangular column
- 070 - Scrim and skim finish with plaster
The evidence provided to achieve these units will be documented in a comprehensive portfolio and this, along with your City & Guilds Unit accredited certificates, will prove to be very useful when you are seeking employment or tendering for work.
These are all hands-on, practical plastering courses and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.
Full Plastering Award: City & Guilds 6217-04
If at a later date you have the time and funds available to you to achieve the full City & Guilds qualification, the time required to achieve this will be reduced to take account of the 10 days already spent with us, the cost will also be adjusted to reflect what you have already paid. You could find yourself in the position of just requiring 4 weeks of training to finish this qualification!
