Have you considered that after just 4 weeks of tiling training you could be in employment or self employed to the standard of a professional Tiler.

Able Skills has devised a 4 week training programme that will provide you with 4 certificates including a City & Guilds Unit Accreditation.

Our 4 week course is entirely hands on with excellent support and tuition from your Instructor. Along with Tiling training you will be given advice on quoting for jobs, how to measure up the job (floors/walls) and setting out the quote.

At the time of booking your course you will be sent our Instructional DVD free of charge, to enable you to obtain an excellent insight to the training you are going to receive. This DVD will additionally benefit you once you have completed your training as a form of reference and guidance.

The course will cover health and safety, which tools are required, what tool to use for each job, what they cost, how often they need replacing and general maintenance etc.

We will also cover which adhesives to use for which job (floors/walls), how much they cost and coverage areas etc.

You will be shown how to tile in straight and diagonal layouts, how to set out a job for general floors, kitchen/bathroom walls, toilets and large floors including theory, marking out and cutting around difficult objects.

Additionally we demonstrate how to deal with any difficult areas you may come across like pipes, sockets, angled ceilings, uneven walls, tiling around a toilet system, window, basin, bath, radiators etc.

We also teach you how to complete different aspects of tiling including borders, patterns, diamond and brickwork and we also incorporate the use of different materials including mosaics.

You will be taught the correct procedure to remove and replace damaged existing tiles with new tiles and work on building speed and precision.

Our tiling course also includes training on how to lay electric under-floor heating.

You will also learn specialist tiling using natural stone, marble, slate etc.

This course will teach you how to tile with natural tumbled marble. You will learn how to seal natural stone, understand required adhesives and be aware of how to enhance the stones natural features.

You will also be shown how to lay natural slate tile and be taught how to overcome uneven thickness of the tile when laying it onto a floor

This 4 week tiling course package can be completed in a time frame to suit you. Weekend training is available for the first 2 parts of this course but the City & Guilds aspect will require a full 5 days due to the assessment process, the same applies to the training using Natural Stone. If you choose to cover the entire package on a Monday – Friday basis, you can split the weeks up to fit in with your ongoing commitments.

Able Skills has secured CAA approval and will be offering the Intermediate Construction Award Level 2, Wall and Floor tiling. This will require 6 weeks of training including CSCS card training and exam enabling you to enter the industry immediately. At the end of your 4 weeks of training, we will provide you with a pack offering guidance on starting your own tiling business. This will include advice on business bank accounts, public liability insurance, printing for Business cards, Account forms etc

4 Week Tiling Course Fees are £1595* (inc vat)

*A deposit of £500 is required in order to secure your chosen weeks and the balance can be divided over your 4 weeks of training (£248.75 per week)
