Able Skills and Vokera - “Working in Partnership at PHEX”
With the growing interest in MCS ( Micro Generation Certification Scheme ) and renewable technologies, the partnership between Able skills and Vokera is directly responding to the growing demand for qualified renewable engineers and MCS approved products. Able skills has built a firm reputation for renewable training and quality, Vokera have an excellent reputation established from their boiler production and sales. Now with their range of renewable technologies such as - solar thermal kits and air to water heat pumps, the partnership provides an excellent end to end solution for any installer.
The partnership has provided the renewable installer with a joined up approach to renewable training and MCS. This benefits the installer by providing:
- Heat pump training
- Solar thermal training
- MCS workshops and a route to accreditation
- Product training on Vokera boilers
- Renewable energy awareness training
- Onsite and off site support from design through to installation and commissioning
- A route to the Vokera installer network with additional benefits and rewards
At the recent PHEX show in Coventry the partnership was visible to all who attended. Vokera and Able skills worked together to show this strategy can help promote renewable technologies, support the installer and offer greater advantages through the Vokera installer network.
As the partnership develops further Vokera installers will be able to access other forms of training and support from Able skills such as:
- Solar PV training
- Electrical courses such as Part P and 17th Edition
- Biomass
- Heating and ventilation
- Also, Micro CHP and Fgas
Gary Measures, Director at Ableskills stated, "Our relationship is already working well, both Vokera and Able skills are determined to offer an end to end solution for the installer. If we can make MCs more accessible, the take up of this scheme will increase and therefore the quality of installations will increase".
For Vokera and Able skills this is only the beginning of a long term relationship aiming to raise the standards of products and services within renewables. Able skills are leaders in renewable training and are part of the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies. This helps to reassure installers of the quality of training provided. The partnership with Vokera also ensures the installer can go to one place and receive all the training, advice, product and relevant onsite or offsite support they need to be successful.

Able skills and Vokera are continuing to work hard on behalf of the installers, trying to produce new methods of support and ensuring the standards of installations and products remains some of the highest in Europe.
