How Do You Decide Who To Train With?
How do you know which training provider to choose when there are so many to choose from?
Able Skills is amongst the few training providers who can offer you progression, flexible training programmes, flexible payment plans, large dedicated training centres and qualified staff.
Able Skills is an accredited centre securing approval to deliver qualification training from City & Guilds, Construction Awards Alliance (formerly CITB),EAL, NICEIC and Logic Certification.
We do take pride in our non accredited training courses also as we are aware that not everyone is seeking a qualification. The difference with our short courses is that they are delivered in dedicated centres by qualified staff so you are assured that you are treated with the same dedication as those training for qualifications. All Instructors are time served and construction specific qualified but each tutor has achieved the required teaching and assessing awards.
We do not hard sell, cold call or visit your home. We do however believe in honesty and will not attempt to recruit you under false pretences.
We will always make you clear as to what you can expect from the training you are seeking and also provide you with details of what your options are should you choose to take your training to the next level. We are an NVQ assessment centre and fully understand the processes in place to obtain an NVQ. Some training centres will lead you to believe that an NVQ can be achieved within a training environment or without underpinning knowledge, this is not the case. If we can’t offer you what you want, we will tell you and try and redirect you to the best of our ability.
We can guide you in the right direction once we know what you are looking to achieve, your options vary dependant upon whether you are looking to enter a particular trade by way of employment or self employment; we know the construction industry well and currently offer courses for either option.
Subjects available:
Tiling and Plastering:
We can offer short courses, specially designed professional packages suited to self employment, hands on City & Guilds courses and Construction Awards for the purposes of employment.
Carpentry:
We can offer short courses, hands on City & Guilds qualifications and Construction awards for the purposes of employment. Kitchen Fitting is also available as an added skill.
Bricklaying:
We can offer short courses, hands on City & Guilds qualifications and Construction awards for the purposes of employment. We also offer paving courses.
Plumbing:
A much more technical subject!
We offer short courses in plumbing which are entirely hands on and will provide you with enough skills to undertake small domestic plumbing tasks. If you are looking for a plumbing qualification to secure a career in plumbing, we offer level 2 qualifications and everything that goes with them. We offer training for unvented hot water systems, water regulations, solar training and energy efficiency and if you want to take this career to the next level, we offer plumbing level 3 qualifications and gas training.
Electrical:
This is the subject we consider we excel in as we are the only private training facility in the UK who can take you all the way to becoming a fully qualified Electrician.
Exclusively, we offer the City & Guilds 2330 at levels 2 and 3 as well as C&G 2382/2391/2377.
If you cannot commit to such a programme of training but still hold an interest in undertaking a career within the electrical industry, we offer qualifications for the purposes of becoming Part P registered Domestic Installers.
Cost/Location/Training
All of the training available varies in price; we are not the cheapest but we are not the most expensive. We do believe that everyone should have access to training which is why we offer the most reasonable payment plans. Even if these are not within your financial range, we can provide you with details of available adult funding options.
Our training patterns are amongst the most flexible available. We can provide weekend training, separated blocks of training and the flexibility to spread the training over a period of up to 18 months.
From a location point of view we are well situated for both road and rail links and if you consider that we are worth the journey, we have our own licensed accommodation which is local to the training centres and complete with all amenities.
