ACS Reassessment
Gas Re-Assessment
As an experienced gas fitting operative considering renewal of CCN1 and/or Appliances or looking to add Appliances, you must provide:
• Your GAS SAFE registration number or the GAS SAFE registration number of the business that employs you.
• Your National Insurance number.
• 2 recent colour photographs.
• Expired Certificates where available.
Expired ACS certificates must be within 12 months of expiry to qualify you as a Category 1 candidate eligible for Reassessment. If your certificate expiry is more than 12 months ago then you will require Initial Assessment.
Your training/revision period will be easier to determine if you can advise if you have been regularly undertaking the areas of gas work covered by your existing certification.

Would you like to earn money from Able Skills?????
As you may be aware, Able Skills provides Gas Training and Assessment for those who are looking to break into the Gas industry. The training we can provide on a regular basis and to the best of our ability, we will also place our students with our sister company, Able On-Time Services, so that they can meet the ACS pre-requisite of having completed a period of proving competence, working under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered Engineer and building a portfolio of evidence.
As we are a busy and popular choice of Gas training provider, we get candidates from right across the UK and we train approximately 16 - 20 students every 3 weeks. This sometimes leaves us with a geographical or numerical problem and so we are keen to enlist the help of Gas Safe registered Engineers who have the desire to assist new entrants and supervise them so that they can progress in the industry.
Able Skills provides top quality training and students only get past the initial training on merit, we will not pass anyone who does not meet the standards and who potentially is dangerous. This being the case, you can be assured that any candidate coming from us has been deemed to be safe and has received thorough and comprehensive training.
If you are interested in providing a placement for one or more of our students, we will pay you to do so and in addition, will provide guidance on the sort of work that an individual needs to cover and assist you in understanding how a portfolio needs to be developed.
We will also ensure that any candidate you take is equipped with the tools to do the job and is also made fully aware that you are not a trainer but someone who is providing support and guidance in real life situations.
If you feel that you can offer this service and earn from it as well, please call the office for more details.
CORGI > Gas Safe Register
The way Gas Installers register has changed and Corgi has been replaced by Gas Safe Register as of 1 April 2009. It is now the official industry stamp for gas safety.
The Health and Safety Executive, who is responsible for regulating gas safety in Great Britain, oversees Gas Safe Register.
The change was brought about to provide enhanced levels of service and clearly written rules of registration. There are new services and benefits designed to improve the registration scheme and promote gas safety.
Please visit www.gassaferegister.co.uk for details of how the changes affect new and existing Gas Operatives
