Able Skills offers training in:

Able Skills Construction Training Centre has worked for many years with service leavers arranging training packages to suit every individual and fitting in with the requirements of a resettlement training allowance.

Whatever your building needs, Able Skills are able to tailor a course that suits you. You can choose whatever subjects interest you the most and we will cost and tailor the course for you.

Able Skills Residential Resettlement Packages are available to all servicemen and women.

Resettlement:

Firstly, the service person who has lived in rented accommodation (married quarters) and has never acquired any home maintenance skills and finds themselves ready to move into their own property but are reluctant to pay expensive labour charges. To cater for this, Able Skills offers a Multi skills course which covers Plastering, Tiling, Bricklaying and Plumbing that provides the student with all the skills required to maintain or renovate their own home. This is our basic package which doesn’t suit everybody and so we are prepared to make changes to this package to suit the individual. Additionally, we have an Electrical package available which includes 3 recognised qualifications enabling you to have a career as a domestic installer.

The second category, are those who are interested in pursuing a career in the lucrative building trade. The individual can undertake specialised training in a core subject, leading to City & Guilds or CAA Certification. We can train you to qualification standards in Tiling, Plastering, Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plumbing or Electrical Installation.

Able Skills offers all of this training for the purposes of resettlement, with little or no cost to the individual except for those wishing to pursue City & Guilds or CAA Certification. This may require a small contribution from the student.

We understand that the resettlement process can be lengthy and sometimes complicated but we have staff in place to guide and help you and try to make the whole transaction as smooth as possible. We can arrange the required invoices for you and we will deal with all faxed forms immediately they arrive, starting with MOD Form 1746.

We can cater for service leavers regardless of the time which has been allocated to them. Whether you have 20 days or 35, we are confident that we can provide you with quality training to prepare you for life outside the MOD.

Some of our staff are ex-servicemen who have also taught within the services, all staff are Assessors and Internal verifiers and this ensures that the standard of training provided is second to none.
