BPEC Vented & Unvented Hot Water Systems Course

This course is a legal requirement for any heating engineer or plumber looking to fit unvented hot water systems above 15lt capacity. This course is a new course and has replaced the old Unvented Hot Water Systems course with the updates to Building Regulations.

By undertaking training in Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems, you no longer need to contact your local Building Control Officer to approve your work. You will be recognised as being competent to design, install, service and maintain Unvented Systems and can therefore self-certify your work.

This BPEC training and assessment package is for people who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in the installation and maintenance of Unvented Hot Water Systems. There is an increase in demand for Unvented Hot Water Systems and operatives must be aware of the skills required to ensure the systems are installed correctly.

The training materials comprise of an introduction to and understanding of the requirements of Approved Document G3, Part L1 and Part P of the Building Regulations.

The pre-requisite for attending the course is a recognised trade qualification (plumbing level 2) or working towards one or a number of years of experience of working in the plumbing or heating industry.

This training course covers all the theory and legislation required to be deemed competent, the course is delivered over 4 modules and has 3 assessments which must be passed to successfully complete the certificate.

Module 1 - Vented and unvented hot water systems and their operating principles

Module 2 -  Design and Installation of vented and unvented

Module 3 - Maintenance of vented and unvented hot water systems

Module 4 - Other applicable building regulations

Each module has a number of specific sub categories for example, forms of hot water supply, legislation covering installation and maintenance, Installer competency, secondary circulation, discharge pipe sizing, balanced and unbalanced cold supply, and many more.

This is a new course replacing the old unvented systems course with the updated regulations for building regulations.

Those wishing to renew their unvented tickets please note this course has now replaced the old unvented certificate and should be taken as your renewal.
