CAA Level 2 Bricklaying Diploma

Able Skills has been an established and reputable CAA (Construction Awards Alliance) approved training centre for some time now. We previously delivered Intermediate Construction Awards which have been replaced by Construction Diplomas and we are accredited to deliver these.

We will provide training, assessment and exams in order for you to obtain a Level 2 Construction Diploma in Bricklaying and additionally, we can provide on site assessment for Bricklaying National Vocational Qualifications.

Construction Awards Alliance Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying

Delivery of this particular Bricklaying Diploma is a mixture of both theory and practical training and assessment and there are several Bricklaying units which need to be completed to achieve the Bricklaying Diploma.

You will need to record and demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of each unit as well as demonstrating your practical Bricklaying skills. As such, any training centre delivering this award will need an abundance of space and both training and assessment areas for all of the units.

We have 3000 sq ft in which to teach you Bricklaying, classrooms for studying and computer suites for your online Bricklaying exam.

Our dedicated Bricklaying Centre is fully operational and equipped with up to date Bricklaying equipment, large training areas and large Assessment areas. We have devised our Bricklaying Training Centre to fit in with the reality requirements of the new Diploma.

The Bricklaying Diploma has been introduced to ensure that any candidate is provided with as much knowledge of Bricklaying as is possible. Any candidate completing a Bricklaying Diploma will find themselves entirely ready for building site employment, not just practically but also with essential knowledge relating to carrying out safe working practices, communicating with others, knowledge of building methods and construction technology.

All of the staff who will be delivering this Bricklaying training are qualified to both City & Guilds and CAA requirements.

They are all qualified to teach, assess and verify each aspect of the Bricklaying Diploma, which ensures that every stage you go through is done here, on site at Able Skills, guaranteeing consistency to help you achieve your goal.

This Bricklaying course is suitable for people who are not at this moment working in the Bricklaying industry and who would like to obtain the required Bricklaying qualification to work towards becoming a professional Bricklayer.

An important feature of the Bricklaying Diploma is that it provides a progression route towards achieving a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Bricklaying.

All Bricklaying Diploma units are related to their equivalent Bricklaying NVQ units and we will advise you what extra assessments are required to gain the related Bricklaying NVQ unit once you are working within the Bricklaying industry.

Construction Awards Alliance Level 2 Bricklaying Diploma

This CAA Bricklaying Diploma will require 6 weeks of practical training and assessment. Completion of this Bricklaying Diploma will be determined by all of the following:

•    Achievement of each Bricklaying unit by internal testing undertaken by your instructor. Each knowledge unit also has a mandatory series of Bricklaying questions and answers produced by CAA and managed by your instructor.

•    Synoptic practical Bricklaying assignment set by CAA and controlled by your instructor. Successful completion of the assignment will be needed before the Bricklaying qualification can be completed.

•    Online test covering the core Bricklaying units and the occupational units must be passed to achieve the qualification. The test will be an independent test of knowledge and understanding.

As you can see from the above, completion of this Bricklaying Diploma requires candidates to demonstrate knowledge and competence on both a practical and theory level and therefore to confirm this, candidates are required to record their understanding of the subject in detail.

This Bricklaying course will require you to undertake some research in order for you to record your understanding of bricklaying and related aspects but to help you with this we have put together a comprehensive Bricklaying manual which will cover all of the knowledge units required to fully achieve this Bricklaying award.

This manual, along with practical Bricklaying training, demonstrations, ongoing guidance and advice will all help when you undertake your Bricklaying unit tests, final practical assessment and On-Line exam.

The Construction Awards Alliance Level 2 Site Bricklaying Diploma is designed to develop your skills and knowledge, enabling you to work in the Bricklaying industry.

The Bricklaying Diploma has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions, and the assessment is based on you showing what you can do as an individual through the completion of all the requirements of the Bricklaying qualification.

All the units of Bricklaying training must be completed by a candidate. All outcomes must be achieved during the training programme. Evidence from any previous site based assessment will not be accepted as contributing towards this Bricklaying Diploma.

Throughout your training time at Able Skills, we will cover all areas of Bricklaying. Health & Safety will be integral to all of the Bricklaying units so throughout your training time we will follow recognised working procedures and safe working practices.

You will be working with the correct tools for the job and using the required personal protective equipment. All finished work will be to required Bricklaying industry standards and within accepted tolerances.

The working areas within the Bricklaying Centre will simulate reality to prepare you for all eventualities once you enter into the Bricklaying industry.

This is a hands-on, practical Bricklaying course, it is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential. All tools, materials and essential PPE are provided throughout your training time at Able Skills.
