There are currently 2 City & Guilds Construction qualifications available. The C&G 6218 Construction Diploma and the long standing C&G 6217. The C&G 6217 has been re-instated for 2011/2012 due to its popularity and the depth and detail which is provided in each construction subject.
Able Skills can offer you the opportunity to qualify as a carpenter with 2 Carpentry based City & Guilds qualifications, one covering aspects of Site Carpentry and the other covering Joinery/Woodworking.
Carpenters are frequently considered to be amongst the most important trade within the construction industry and working in this industry can be very rewarding which is why we are offering you the opportunity to perfect your skills and learn to be a carpenter with both of these awards.
Our Carpentry Training Centre is probably the biggest and best equipped in the UK. The centre has 3 full time Carpentry instructors who are all trade qualified and time served and additionally, have the required qualification to allow them to assess the work you undertake. They offer complete guidance, training and assessment on every aspect of the course and will also deliver additional trade relevant carpentry training if you have any time left.
To fully achieve both carpentry awards will require 10 weeks of hands on training, during which time you will build a portfolio of your work, recording all of your practical carpentry assessments along with written statements to confirm your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the carpentry awards.
This complete and detailed portfolio, along with final certification, can be used as evidence of experience when you are applying for work within the carpentry industry.
If you want to train as a carpenter with Able Skills, this course can be covered over a period to suit you; you can train for 10 consecutive weeks or divide your weeks up. If you are unavailable through the working week, we can also tailor the training for weekends.
The entire City & Guilds Carpentry assessment process is completed here on site at Able Skills which ensures this course is delivered using the correct procedures and without delay. However, if you are away from the centre and require any carpentry advice, this is available by contacting matrix@ableskills.co.uk This will keep you in contact with your instructors and assessors at all times.
A £500 deposit will secure start dates and the balance can be spread over the training period @ £349.50 per week.
