City & Guilds 6217-03 : 4 Week Painting & Decorating Course

There are currently 2 City & Guilds Construction qualifications available. The C&G 6218 Construction Diploma and the long standing C&G 6217. The C&G 6217 has been re-instated for 2011/2012 due to its popularity and the depth and detail which is provided in each construction subject.

City & Guilds Course 6217-03 from Able Skills

Able Skills can offer you the opportunity to obtain a City & Guilds qualification in painting and decorating. This is an intensive 4 weeks of hands on training, during which time you will build a portfolio of your painting and decorating work. This course can be covered over a period to suit you and you can train for 4 consecutive weeks or divide your weeks up.

This 4 week course covers a variety of commonly required Painting & Decorating skills and will enable you to undertake varying aspects of decorating work either within domestic or industrial/commercial premises. Able Skills painting and decorating course is available throughout the year and has its own designated training areas; the class sizes are small so there is plenty of time with the instructor for help and advice throughout your training period.

C&G 6217-03 : 4 Week Painting & Decorating Certificate - £1695 (inc vat)

A £500 deposit will secure start dates and the balance can be spread over the training period @ £298.75 per week.

City & Guilds 6217-03 : 4 Week Painting & Decorating Course

This painting and decorating course will provide you with in depth training during which time you will be assessed by our qualified painting and decorating Assessors and Internal Verifiers. The entire City & Guilds process is completed here on site at Able Skills which ensures this course is delivered using the correct procedures and without delay.

There are 6 mandatory Units and you must complete any 2 Units from the 7 optional units

The 6 Painting & Decorating Mandatory Units are:

• 006 - Painting a timber window frame
• 007 - Applying emulsion to wall by roller
• 008 - Painting doors and frames
• 009 - Applying oil based paint to walls by roller
• 062 - Removing and hanging wallpaper to walls
• 063 - Hanging paper to ceilings and painting

The 7 Painting & Decorating Optional Units are:

• 010 - Rust removal and priming metal
• 011 - Applying paint by spraying
• 012 - Introduction to glazing for painting and decorating
• 013 - Using broken colour techniques
• 014 - Working with hardwood finishes
• 015 - Removing and refitting a water-filled radiator
• 064 - Introduction to artexing and coving

This is a hands-on, practical course, it is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential. All tools and materials will be provided throughout your training period.
