City & Guilds Part P 2393 with 2382-2392

Able Skills has created this package of various Electrical Courses and qualifications to enable those of you who want to become a domestic installer to train to the highest standard and be taken from a beginner level up to a level 3 qualified domestic electrician.

Able Skills is constantly looking to offer as much as is possible in the way of Electrical training to everyone regardless of their background, age or experience and we are constantly devising discounted Electrical training packages to try and cater for everyone.

Since the 1st January 2005, all domestic electrical installation work carried out must meet current Building regulations. Anyone who carries out electrical work in houses or flats must be competent to do so and have a good working knowledge and understanding of Part P of the Building Regulations. Within the Building Regulations there are 14 technical parts of which Part P is applicable to Electrical Safety within Domestic Dwellings.

For example as a domestic electrician we need to know where to drill through a joist in the loft so as not to make the wood structurally any less safe. Also how deep you can chase out the wall to put cables into so you do not make the brickwork any less safe structurally. What electrical work can we do in bathrooms which are known as special locations due to the presence of water and steam?

In this Part P course we are teaching what you can and cannot do in a domestic dwelling as far as electrical installations and building regulations are concerned. You prove your knowledge and competency by completing and passing this City and Guilds 2393 course.

Electrical Qualifications Available

This package comprises of 4 Electrical Courses, assessments and examinations will see you taken through a variety of practical tasks to ascertain your installation competencies and lead you towards:

1. Able Skills Introductory to Electrics
2. Level 3 City & Guilds (2393)
3. Level 3 City & Guilds qualifications (2382)
4. Level 2 City & Guilds (2392)

This Electrical training package can be broken down into 3 separate training blocks, starting with our 5 day Introductory Electrical course.

The 5 day introductory to electrics course has been put together by our time served electricians to give all students a good understanding of the practical skills they would need to complete an installation and maintenance in a domestic dwelling and to also guide you to understand what work you can and cannot undertake.

The second course of this package will be to undertake the City & Guilds 2393, Building Regulations course. This course is based on theory assessments and takes you through 2 modules.

The third course of this electrical package is the City & Guilds 2383: 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. This is a requirement to gain after registering as a domestic installer.

Gaining this qualification shows to your scheme provider that you are progressing with your electrical knowledge and that you have gained familiarity with the layout, content and application of the BS 7671 (2008) 17th Regulations Edition.

Finally, the fourth course of this electrical package is the City and Guilds 2392-10. This is a level 2 City & Guilds qualification which is specifically aimed at electricians and others who have limited or no experience in the use of test instruments. The course is structured and designed to prepare candidates who wish to go on to achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate 2394/2395.

There is frequently change in Electrical regulations and requirements and on occasion, the introduction of new or altered qualifications to support individuals knowledge of electrics.

As a Training Centre we strive to stay up to date with the changes and we ensure that all of our electrical instructors undergo any updates to qualifications themselves. This enables the accurate delivery of skills and knowledge to all candidates. Please feel free to view our staff page to get a feel for the level of competent staff we have here.
