Women Construction Training Courses

It would appear that the Construction Industry is run by men, for men and full of men.

However, the aim of Able Skills is to try and make a dent in this male dominated industry by encouraging and training women in construction skills.

At Able Skills we have a strong equal opportunities policy and strive to cater for all, providing a safe and friendly environment to learn your chosen skills.

We can't promise to run women only courses, but we can promise to train you to a high standard and ensure that you feel comfortable throughout your time with us. You will finish your training with the confidence needed to take on the tasks you have been taught.

There is a gap in the Construction Industry for skilled tradeswomen; Women only plumbing companies are very popular and there is no reason why this cannot extend beyond to cover all construction skills.

There is also the fact that when something needs doing at home, you can wait weeks for a tradesman and then pay the earth for something that you could easily tackle yourself, if you had the required training.

Women can attempt DIY projects; with the help of Able Skills, you can be successful in anything from fitting a bathroom suite to plastering a room, tiling a kitchen or building a wall or simply fixing that very annoying leak or dripping tap.

Able Skills has seen many women pass through the Centre and all of the courses we offer have been attended by women but we would like to see more of you joining us.

There aren't any courses offered by Able Skills that are not within your capability. Please look through the different course descriptions on this website and hopefully you will decide to go for it and do some "hands on" training with us.

Once again, we will ensure that your training environment is suitable, comfortable and above all, enjoyable. At the same time we will provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make that dent in the Construction Industry.

Able Skills offers short courses in all subjects, some of these have an advanced option should you want to learn and practice more.In addition, we also run courses which can see you achieve a recognised qualification.
