Finding plumbing courses
Undertaking a plumbing course is a certified gateway into a lucrative career in the construction trade. For example, fully qualified plumbers in the London area can earn up to £70,000 a year once they have established a good client base.
There are starter plumbing courses available online which will give you a good idea whether this trade is suited to your interests and skill set. The ideal plumber is somebody who has a logical way of thinking, good problem solving skills and a steady hand. Additional skills that will add value to a plumber's CV are tiling and kitchen and bathroom fitting. Because of this, further courses such as tiling or decorating courses will enable this type of tradesman to offer a full service - from repair, to full fitting.
In some areas of plumbing, there may be an element of gas work involved - for example if a task starts to involve heating or boiler systems. By getting a CORGI certificate or further training in gas engineering it will ensure that additional workmen will not need to be called in on a job.
Once qualified past the first level, a plumber can gain further qualifications whilst on the job to improve and expand their set of skills in the area of plumbing they are most interested in. Budding plumbers are always advised to obtain as many client recommendations and photos of finished jobs as possible in order to raise their profile and secure future employment.
