City & Guilds 2330 Electro Technical Certificate Level 3

Able Skills extensive Electrical department enables us to be able to deliver a multitude of electrical courses including City & Guilds Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology 2330 – level 3.

With just 6 weeks of intensive electrical training (over a 12 week period) on a full time basis, you could obtain the City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 electrical qualification, which currently takes 1 year on a part time basis in any college.

This course is the natural progression from Level 2 and candidates will only be considered for this award if they have City & Guilds 2330 level 2 or City & Guilds 2360 Part 1. If you have obtained these qualifications you more than likely did so at college by attending once a week or evenings, this fast track option will be a real revelation to you.

It works well, our existing pass rate is excellent

We are aware that there are many training centres in the UK offering various electrical course options and we would advise caution when you are ready to book an electrical course. Study all course descriptions to ensure that you are aware of the difference between training as an Electrician and training as a Domestic Installer!!!!

Things to check before you book:

  • We recommend that you confirm the Training Centres City & Guilds Registration number and    also that you enquire as to the qualifications of their staff.
  • In order for your electrical courses to run swiftly and smoothly, you should ensure that your chosen training centre has qualified Instructors, Assessors and Internal Verifiers.
  • Better still, visit the centre and view the facilities available.
  • You should be allowed access to see the training bays, chat to instructors and additionally, any existing students.
  • Lastly, confirm the timing of your course. If your intended course is to be achieved in blocks then be sure that you can return at a time of your choice and that you will not be left waiting for months on end.

City & Guilds 2330 is now the recognised route for those wishing to go into the electrical installation industry and this award will cover underpinning knowledge necessary for the industry.

The course is made up of electrical principles involving AC theory, single phase and three phase power, transformers etc and craft theory, including earthing, types of motors and illumination all to the latest 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. Some electronics will also be included in this course.

The aim of this electrical course is to provide and help develop regulation knowledge, practical skills and science required for electrical installation work.

Progression:

Able Skills offers a variety of Electrical courses and we are regularly used by major electrical contractors and companies who are looking to upskill their workforce. We have an excellent reputation within the Electrical industry because we have so many electrical course options available: C&G 2382, C&G 2391, C&G 2377 and Domestic Installer qualifications for Part P. If you have not already undertaken some or any of these exams, please visit the relevant pages for full details.

The C&G 2330 course will not result in an NVQ qualification, however, the City & Guilds 2330 is an industry recognised qualification and will cover the 'under-pinning knowledge' part of the NVQ.  To complete the NVQ you will need to be assessed at your workplace and build up a portfolio of evidence.

At Able Skills, all students are required to wear appropriate protective equipment in the electrical workshops, including safety boots. We also recommend you have a scientific calculator and IEE On-Site Guide.

City & Guilds 2330 levels 2 and 3 are formal trade qualifications and are required in order for candidates to progress further in their electrical training/career. They can also be used for people who are looking to retrain and enter the electrical industry.
