2382 – 10 Electrical Course Summary

The aim of this 3 day electrical training course is to gain familiarity with the layout, content and application of the BS 7671 (2008) 17th Regulations Edition. This course involves no practical work, it introduces the regulations and covers their application through explanation and worked examples. The purposes, structure and content of the updated IEE On-Site Guide will also be covered and delegates will appreciate how to use this in support of the BS 7671. Throughout the electrical course delegates will be prepared to sit the City and Guild 2382 multiple choice examination leading to the award of the Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2008, for successful candidates.

A basic understanding of electrical principles is recommended in order to be successful on this course which is fast becoming industry standard.

Who Should Attend this Electrical Regulations Course

The course is aimed at practising electricians, electrical contractors and those who require to have a good working knowledge of BS7671:2008 (IEE Wiring Regulations, Seventeenth Edition).

This award is also a requirement for those of you registering onto a Part P scheme; your chosen Governing body will request that you obtain this electrical qualification within a 12 month period.

17th Edition Update: 2382 – 20

If you already have your 16th edition qualification, City & Guilds 2381
and have had it since June 2001, you only need to update your knowledge and attend our 1 day course and take the online test. This update is now known as 2382-20

If your qualification was obtained prior to June 2001 you will need to attend the full 3 Day course and take the online test. This qualification is called 2382-10

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with an awareness of the main alterations and additions incorporated in BS 7671:2008. (17th Edition)

This course aims to update delegates on the significant differences between the 16th and 17th editions. It will, therefore, focus on the main additions and alterations that have been incorporated in the 2008 (17th) edition.

It is aimed at practising electricians and other related trades who have a good working knowledge of BS 7671 and who have already achieved the City & Guilds Certificate in the requirements for electrical installations (BS 7671: 2001) (2381) or a recognised equivalent. It is intended to ensure that they are conversant with the format, content and the application of the current edition of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (17th edition).

This unit will be assessed by a multiple choice online test covering the underpinning knowledge relating to the content and application of BS 7671

It is expected that candidates should have achieved a qualification which addresses the requirements for BS 7671 such as the City & Guilds Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: June 2001 (2381) or equivalent in order to satisfactorily complete this qualification. Without evidence of formal qualifications, candidates should take the qualification addressing the Wiring Regulations in full – the Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations to BS 7671:2008 (2382-10).
