Our qualified team of Gas Trainers and Assessors have put together accurate programmes and will provide guidance, support and assistance in a realistic environment to build confidence and competence to work safely in the gas industry.
We are aware that every individual Gas Engineer has different requirements and whilst we provide price and time details, these are purely for guidance and would ask that you contact us with your personal requirements in order for us to calculate an accurate package to suit your needs.
Category 1 Candidates
Category 1 candidates are experienced gas fitters with existing gas knowledge and skills. These are operatives looking to renew certificates which have expired or are due to expire. Additionally, Category 1 candidates are also those of you looking to add appliances and expand your scope of work.
Expired ACS certificates must be within 12 months of expiry to qualify you as a Category 1 candidate.
Candidates may only re-assess on Appliances they currently hold under the ACS scheme. If you are looking to add an Appliance to your CV then training for this will be mandatory and you should allow for this when calculating potential costs.
For CITB purposes, training for candidates requiring re-assessment is not mandatory however, it is essential to stay up to date; legislation has changed and continues to do so.
As a result, we have built training/revision into all of the times and prices displayed.
Please visit ACS Re-Assessment for details of training, revision and assessment packages available at Able Skills.
We are open 7 days every week so weekends are available to reduce your time away from work

CORGI > Gas Safe Register
The way Gas Installers register is changing……
Gas Safe Register will replace CORGI gas registration in Great Britain on 1 April 2009. It will be the official industry stamp for gas safety.
The Health and Safety Executive, who is responsible for regulating gas safety in Great Britain, will oversee Gas Safe Register.
The new register will provide enhanced levels of service and clearly written rules of registration. There will also be new services and benefits designed to improve the registration scheme and promote gas safety.
Please visit www.gassaferegister.co.uk for details of how the changes affect new and existing Gas Operatives
