Gas Training Courses - from Able Skills
Able Skills has a dedicated Gas Training and Gas Assessment Centre. As a provider in all areas of construction training, the Gas Centre is the natural progression for us following our successful running of all manner of plumbing courses.
Able Skills dedicated Gas Centre is fully equipped for both training and assessment purposes and is suited to those of you who are new to the industry and who are considering a career in Gas but equally, our Gas Centre is also beneficial to existing and experienced engineers who require reassessment or re training.
Able Skills can offer a wide range of training and assessment to the latest government guidelines in our purpose built workshop and training centre.
Our qualified team of gas trainers and assessors will provide guidance, support and assistance in a realistic environment to build confidence and competence to work safely in the gas industry.
New Entrants
For those of you new to the industry, we have training blocks which will establish your suitability for the gas industry and also provide you with sufficient training to be able to move into the industry, undertaking relevant and required jobs in order to build a portfolio of evidence, declaring your competence with gas and appliances etc.
This is the Approved Prior Learning (APL) scheme and is the initial step for anyone looking to undertake gas courses and gas training ready for the industry.
Existing Engineers
Able Skills has a fantastic Gas assessment area ready for those of you who are looking to retake CCN1 and/or any appliances including the now mandatory CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)
We offer training and assessment packages for:
CCN 1: Core Gas Safety
CEN 1: Central Heating Boilers
CPA 1: Combustion Performance Analysis
CKR 1: Domestic Cookers
HTR 1: Gas Fires and Wall Heaters
WAT 1: Water Heaters
MET 1: Meters
DAH 1: Warm Air Heating Appliances
Training and/or Assessment for CCN1 and Appliances is now available at Weekends. Please visit our Weekend Gas Training page for full details to see if this suits your circumstances better.
All students are required to wear appropriate protective equipment in the gas workshops, including safety boots.

Courses are held Monday to Friday.
Weekend training is Saturday and Sunday.
All Course Times are: 08.30am-16.30pm.
For people travelling longer distances Able Skills can provide their own reasonable priced accommodation on request or at the time of booking.
