Our Plumbing departments are located on 2 separate sites and this enables us to offer short courses for those of you looking to receive hands on fast training in domestic plumbing, and also City & Guilds qualifications for the more serious plumber out there who is looking to learn plumbing as a career.

Plumbing Qualifications – Learn to become a professional Plumber

We are aware that there are many training centres in the UK offering the plumbing award 6129 and we would advise caution when you are ready to book a course like this.

Things to check before you book:

  • We recommend that you confirm the Training Centres City & Guilds Registration number and also that you enquire as to the qualifications of their staff.
  • In order for your plumbing course to run swiftly and smoothly, you should ensure that your chosen training centre has qualified Instructors, Assessors and Internal Verifiers.
  • Better still, visit the centre and view the facilities available.
  • You should be allowed access to see the training bays, chat to instructors and additionally, any existing students.
  • Lastly, confirm the timing of your course. If your intended course is to be achieved in blocks then be sure that you can return at a time of your choice and that you will not be left waiting for months on end.

Plumbing Qualifications – City & Guilds 6129 at Able Skills

Our City & Guilds 6129 level 2 course has an entire Centre all to itself. The complete area is coordinated to provide you with a swift and smooth journey to your final plumbing qualification. We have working bays designed to City & Guilds requirements, we have a designated area for the lead aspect of the course, we have classrooms for the theory required and we have examination rooms for when you are ready for your final exam. The Plumbing Centre is fully equipped with all the tools, materials and books that you will require to practice and complete your assessments and exams.

If you want to learn to be a qualified plumber then we can help you on your way starting with the required City & Guilds 6129 level 2 in basic plumbing studies, you then also have the option to move to level 3 with us or use our newly established Gas Training Centre, accredited by Logic Certification, for that next step to Corgi registration; we also offer Water Regulations, Unvented Hot Water Systems, Energy Efficiency and Solar Thermal Domestic Hot Water courses. We have Plumbing and Gas instructors, Assessors and Internal Verifiers at Able Skills to ensure an accurate delivery of the qualifications to take you forward as you learn plumbing and move into the plumbing industry.

Short Courses – Learn plumbing at another level

If the prospect of 10 weeks of Plumbing does not appeal to you and your aim is to learn domestic plumbing for your own personal use then we also have a separate plumbing department catering for this. We can teach you all aspects of domestic plumbing in 5 or 10 days to a level that will ensure you have the skills, confidence and ability to undertake domestic plumbing projects. These courses are entirely hands on and instructed by an experienced plumber who is also qualified to assess so you have the benefit of both his years of plumbing knowledge and his teaching skills.

We are a large and well established training provider and we are open 7 days every week to enable us to offer every opportunity to everybody wanting to learn plumbing.

Whether it is for your own personal benefit to tackle some plumbing at home, or if you have some small jobs lined up for friends or if you want to gain a qualification to move to a plumbing career, all of this is available at Able Skills.

Due to the commitment of all the staff we have, we are always open, weekend training is available on both short courses and qualification courses and this ensures that all forms of plumbing training is available to everyone regardless of lifestyle or other commitments.

We have the space and facilities to offer that little bit more to anyone wanting to progress; after an intensive course, you may want to learn more on the advanced. You may want to cover the intensive and advanced course but obtain a City & Guilds Unit Accreditation. If you have completed the 6129 level 2, you may want level 3 or you may want Gas training. Whatever your choice and whatever your aim is, Able Skills can help.

For people travelling longer distances Able Building Skills can provide their own reasonable priced accommodation on request or at the time of booking.
