New Entrant BPEC PV Package

Able Skills have previously devised various comprehensive training packages to cover the requirements of domestic installations which have provided students with the required skills and qualifications to move forward, register for Part P onto competent persons schemes and move on to enjoy a successful and safe career undertaking domestic installations.

To progress individuals that little bit further, we have now devised accredited courses which will meet the criteria as listed above but will also enable the individual to undertake an additional career within the Renewable Technologies industry – specifically Solar Photovoltaic.

Renewable Technology and the ability to generate power by natural means is most definitely the way that the UK is moving forward. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) ticks all of the boxes for the UK Government whose drive on carbon emission reduction is at the forefront of every debate and news item.

Solar PV installations take energy from the sun to generate electricity to power appliances and lighting; this in turn reflects on reduced electricity bills and coupled with the Feed In Tariffs, which entitle PV customers to receive payments for every single unit of electricity produced and an additional payment for any surplus electricity fed back into the grid, makes PV an all round good investment.

PV installation, commissioning and maintenance requires an individual to have a sound electrical background but not necessarily a full blown Electricians qualification so the possibilities are there for career changers and new entrants to the industry to have a role in this growing ‘Green’ industry.

Able Skills has put together a series of comprehensive courses for those of you who would like to embark on a career as a Renewable Engineer.

These courses will take you on a journey of Electrical installation training, Wiring Regulations training, Inspection and Testing training, Health & Safety training and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) training.

This is not a quick fix package as we recommend that the training is done at the right pace with mandatory Competent Persons scheme registration undertaken at the relevant point so that all Certificating bodies pre-requisites are adhered to.

The aim for Able Skills is to produce competent and safe installers of Photovoltaic systems who can fully understand the requirements of the various incentive schemes and whose customers can benefit from financial payback on their investments.

This series of courses will allow you a direct route in to the Solar PV marketplace.

The solar PV installers package consists of:

1. Introductory in to electrics

2. EAL VRQ Level 2 - Part P Certificate

3. C&G 2382 17th Edition

4. C&G 2392 Inspection and Testing

5. Bpec Solar PV systems

6. MCS workshop
