The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) has appointed London Eventing to construct the Cross Country course for the Olympics.
Greenwich Park in south London is set to be the home of the course.
Tim Hadaway, LOCOG's equestrian manager has said that the group was "very pleased" with London Eventing.
"We were in the privileged position of being able to consider a number of teams from the UK, all of whom would be considered as being amongst the leading builders in the world," he said.
Jonathan Clissold, the project manager for London Eventing, said that the venue would be "stunning" and added that the group "can't wait to develop a course that will showcase Greenwich and its unique heritage".
There are a huge number of construction jobs being created in conjunction with the new Olympic Park in east London's Stratford, ranging from the main stadium to the athlete's village, which will be turned into housing after the event.
