Devon hotel to expand

Those with bricklaying training could benefit from news about a hotel expansion in Devon.
Budget hotel Premier Inn is to build a three storey extension on its hotel in Torquay.
Construction jobs, potentially for those with bricklaying training, will be created to build the additional 60 bedrooms.
According to the Herald Express, agents for Premier Inn are keen to "exploit the unused capacity of the site to accommodate additional guests".
Figures show that since opening 12 months ago it has been 100 per cent booked on 102 nights and on 219 nights has been 95 per cent full.
"These are extraordinary figures of which any hotelier would be envious. The site has turned away more than 12,000 potential bookings in that same period," the agents added.
Currently the site has 83 bedrooms and a 274-seater restaurant as well as outside dining facilities.
Ward councillor of Tormohun Jenny Faulkner said that the development would "bring jobs" but that residents "don't want to see high-rise extensions" in the town.
Premier Inn has 500 hotels across the UK.
