Electrician training courses could boost careers and economy
Published: 17/03/2010
Britons thinking of taking an electrician training course to gain their approved electrical qualifications might find encouragement to do so in comments from business secretary Lord Mandelson.
The government today (March 17th) marked the first anniversary of the New Industry, New Jobs scheme, which aims to develop much-needed skills and infrastructure in the private sector.
And on the same day, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills announced that it is to develop new National Skills Academies (NSA) to supply the economy with the skills it needs for the future.
This includes the NSA for Power, which will be led by Sector Skills Council Energy & Utility Skills in conjunction with employers such as E.ON, EDF Energy and National Grid.
Lord Mandelson explained: "New academies and investment by employers, in partnership with colleges and the education sector, will create the best training that gives people the skills they need to boost their careers and drive the economy forward."
