Patch Plastering Course

Able Skills Plastering department is designed to cover all aspects of plastering and can offer you a weekend course so that you can learn how to repair a patch in a plastered wall and ceiling.

Patching is an existing unit covered within the City & Guilds qualification course we offer, and the feed back from candidates has confirmed that this is an essential area to learn for when you are undertaking plastering work. As a result of this, we have devised this 2 day course, following guidance from City & Guilds, which will enable you to:

Determine what is required when patching
Cut back and remove the damaged area
Select the correct materials for patch
Prepare background for repair
Repair patch
Rub up patch
Skim patch

Completion of this course will enable you to repair damaged areas on a wall or ceiling without the need to re plaster an entire area.
However, should there be additional areas requiring plastering, we can offer you a variety of plastering courses, these will be available for you to view whilst you are here on your patching course.

The instructors you will have are the same instructors who provide this training to our City & Guilds candidates so this assures you that the quality of training you will receive is to an extremely high standard.

Coving Courses

Able Skills is offering you the opportunity to attend a 1 day training course to enable you to apply coving correctly. This course will teach you:

Preparation of wall areas for coving.
Measuring cutting and standard practices for handling coving.
Stopends
Applying coving to external and internal angles and finishing off.

Once you have completed this course, you will be competent to carry out any coving requirements.
Learning plastering has a huge scope and the various courses we offer can provide you with the skills and knowledge to cover just about every plastering requirement.

For people traveling longer distances Able Building Skills can provide their own reasonable priced accommodation on request or at the time of booking.
