Paving-Slabbing Course

Have you ever considered that in a short space of time, with the help of professionals, you could learn the skills which will allow you to create your own patio area.

Able Skills has devised a weekend programme for you to provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to be able to pave/slab an area. Our course is an introduction to paving techniques and introduces the principles of paving construction.

You will gain skills in laying both rigid and flexible surfaces and will be provided with information about materials and the equipment required to carry out these tasks.

Over the two days we will provide you with as much training as we can so that you will be able to lay your own patio area. You will learn how to:

•    Cut and shape slabs
•    Incorporate diamond and curved angle patterns
•    How to outline your work with brick pavers
•    Prepare your work base
•    Calculate your centre lines.

Our experienced trainers will show you different mixing techniques and various pointing finishes (including coloured finishes).

Once you have completed the course, you will be able and confident to build your own patio with a decorative boarder at a fraction of the cost.

Why not add a 5 Day Ornate Brickwork course as well and build a new barbeque ready for the summer!

The 5 days ornate bricklaying will teach you how to incorporate herringbone brickwork into your designs as well as specialist curved bricks to cater to your personal design.
