Why Able Skills?
Able Skills has been continually expanding since we started providing training in 2003. We have developed our Plumbing and Gas centres to such a standard that they can match, and in many cases better, most FE Colleges or other providers in the UK.
The Plumbing centre has been devised to ensure that there is optimum space for every candidate in attendance and that every piece of training and assessment is completed at the correct time and without delay. Every candidate is allocated their own personal toolkit for their use during the training; all other materials are provided at no extra cost. Our spacious, air conditioned classrooms are equipped with plasma screens in order to display up to date information during theory sessions and there are display boards and training aids to support your learning.
We have 2 dedicated Gas training centres which have been furnished with a wide range of gas appliances. These facilities will simulate the type of appliances which you will work on within the gas industry. This level of training will enable you to move confidently into working under supervision before commencing the assessments required to achieve formal gas qualifications and Gas Safe Registration.
We have an excellent reputation within the training industry and have some of the best staff available who will dedicate their time to ensuring that you are given every opportunity to complete these Plumbing and Gas qualifications. All 6 of our Plumbing and Gas staff are fully qualified in their trade as well as being Assessors and Internal Verifiers.
Our facilities are such that we can take you from a Plumbing novice to a FULLY QUALIFIED PLUMBER, providing support and guidance throughout your plumbing journey.
Able Skills is open 7 days every week and we welcome visitors at all times. Please feel free to come along to view our facilities, have an informal chat with any one of our instructors and meet existing students. We feel that this is an excellent introduction for anyone looking to invest in training and this option will help you decide if Able Skills is where you want to train.

As the Portfolio is built, Able Skills assessors will provide feedback and guidance to enable you to plan your future evidence requirements. The arrangement for Onsite visits will be determined by the type of work you are undertaking so therefore, you should maintain close contact with your Assessor to ensure the smooth progress of this qualification.

- Contribute to the Improvement of the Work Environment.

To achieve the Plumbing NVQ Level 3 candidates will need to meet the required standards and will be required to produce a portfolio of work-based activities which will be observed and assessed by Able Skills own on site assessors. Each NVQ candidate will be provided with a Portfolio detailing tasks to be performed and assessed. As the Portfolio is built, Able Skills assessors will provide feedback and plan the future evidence requirements of the candidate.
