Able Skills 3 day Polished / Marble / Venetian Plastering Course

Able Skills can provide you with specialist plastering training which will enable you to carry out Polished Plastering or as it is also known, Marble Plastering or Venetian Plastering.

Polished, Venetian or Marble Plastering is becoming increasingly popular and our 3 day course will enable you to deliver this specialist finish,  using materials that are all environmentally friendly by world leaders in eco products OIKOS  (www.oikos-paint.com).

Polished plastering provides you with a stunning decorative finish, the product itself is made from fine lime putty, marble flour or grains, natural waxes and colorants and are applied by stainless steel trowels.

The final coat is burnished to create an extremely stunning high sheen. The finished article when applied correctly, can transform ordinary walls and ceilings into works of art.

This course is suitable to anyone wanting to learn to apply a specialist finish, especially those looking to add a skill to their current portfolio or enhance their position as already established craftsmen, whether you are a decorator, designer, plasterer or tiler.

Polished Plaster finish is available in an extensive range of colours. Suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms and kitchens it is, of course, water resistant and can provide a beautiful and stunning alternative to tiles.

During this 3 day Polished Plastering course you will be taught:

•    How to apply specialist finishes
•    How to create your own finishes: 5 different finishes from polished plaster to natural stone
•    How to add tints to the material and learning how to achieve the correct colours (ready to use in buckets)
•    Achieve various finishes varying from completely uniformed to highly textured
•    How to correctly finish edges
•    how to create special effects including Banding & Blockwork
•    Learning application of  waterproofing products & protection waxes

Our instructors are all trained by experts within the Venetian/Marble plastering industry and are ready to pass their skills onto you to enable you to undertake this beautiful alternative decoration.

At the end of your polished plastering course you will receive an Able Skills Certificate of completion and you will also have the work you have carried out to take away with you. You will be able to use the completed boards as samples of your work to produce to prospective customers who will see first hand what you are capable of.

If you are looking to achieve a recognised qualification in Plastering then this 6 week option is the perfect place to start. The course is predominantly hands on and you will receive training and assessment to confirm your plastering competence. Weekend training for this is also available.
