BPEC Rainwater & Greywater Harvesting Courses

Fresh water is an extremely limited and precious resource and less than 3% of all water on the planet is considered "fresh". It is estimated that the demand for water is going to increase dramatically, to such an extent that the government is now looking at more sustainable approaches for water conservation.

This, coinciding with the cost of water utility bills continually increasing, people are now looking at alternative ways to source water to substitute traditional methods. The majority of water that is used within a home is not used for drinking purposes so therefore this water usage can be substituted with rainwater.

Rainwater Harvesting systems are designed to distribute the rainwater throughout your home for use in things such as toilet flushing, washing machines and outside use.

Able Skills dedicated Renewable Energy Training Centre we are now able to deliver BPEC accredited training courses for Rainwater and Greywater Harvesting.

Able Skills is committed to providing training and assessment to meet the needs and demands of the Renewable industry by providing this recognised and BPEC certificated course which also counts towards MCS.

We have invested in the most modern of training equipment - the latest Polypipe rainwater rig and the award winning Ecoplay greywater recycling system.

Both of these rigs are fully operational and allow the delegates the opportunity to commission the systems and identify good installation practice. Additional training aids are also used to ensure a complete understanding is provided to candidates.

The course is aimed at plumbers, heating engineers and ground work engineers who are looking to diversify in to this market. The code for sustainable homes is helping drive an increase in these water saving installations, especially in the new and self build markets.

The course looks at water usage in the domestic and commercial sectors and how we can reduce consumption through the use of these two technologies.

Direct and indirect Rainwater systems will be covered and the delegate should be able to advise and identify the correct types of rainwater and greywater systems once they have completed the course.
