Able Skills Weekend Tiling Courses

At Able Skills we are aware that many people have commitments through the week but would still like to receive training in various subjects.

As a result, Able Skills offers the Intensive and Advanced Tiling courses spread over 2 consecutive week end periods. The course content remains unchanged, 5 days training condensed into 4.

Intensive Tiling Course Schedule:

• Setting out your tiling work,
• Explaining all the different adhesives used for different surfaces
• Demonstrating all the tools required.
• Cutting tiles using wet tile cutters, dry tile cutters, tile scribes, tile snips and tile saws.
• Explaining tiling involving Borders, Diamonds and Patterns
• How to cut around windows and reveals
• How to cope with tiling difficult areas such as uneven walls
• How to tile angled ceilings and socket areas.
• How to tile splash-backs
• How to tile around boxed in pipes.

Advanced Tiling Course Schedule:

• How to cope with more difficult obstacles such as shower attachments
• Tiling behind existing sink pedestals
• Tiling behind radiators and
• Tiling around toilet waste soil pipes.
• Obtaining more speed and precision incorporating different materials including mosaics.
• We will also tackle more patterns including brickwork pattern
• You will be taught the correct procedure to remove and replace damaged existing tiles with new tiles.
• You will also learn how to estimate tile quantities required for each individual job
• How to prepare a quote.
• Explain and demonstrate how to lay and fit under-floor heating

These weekend courses will enable you to carry out tiling projects around the house or help you decide if you are considering a career in tiling.

Able Skills offers a variety of tiling training including City & Guilds and training usingNatural Stone. These courses are also available as a 3 week or 4 week package; please visit the relevant pages for details.

Able Skills has secured CAA approval and will be offering the Intermediate Construction Award Level 2, Wall and Floor tiling. This will require 6 weeks of training including CSCS card training and exam enabling you to enter the industry immediately. Weekend Tiling Course Fees are:

Intensive Weekends: £349.00 (inc vat)

Advanced Weekends: £375.00 (inc vat)

All Course Times are: 08.30am-16.30pm.

For people travelling longer distances Able Building Skills can provide their own reasonable priced accommodation on request or at the time of booking.
