Recognition of Prior Learning - Transferring existing Qualifications
City & Guilds 2330 at levels 2 and 3 and City & Guilds 2356 (NVQ) level 3 has been replaced by City & Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma. This is a complete qualification which provides:
• Instructor lead classes
• an Independent Assessment (AM2)
• work based assessments (commonly k/a NVQ)
This new qualification will become industry recognised and will act as the underpinning qualification upon which to build and will be recognised by the Joint Industry Board (JIB) for the purposes of grading an Electricians status.
If you already hold Electrical qualifications it could be that you are eligible to be considered for this new C&G 2357 qualification using Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as this recognises that a person's previous experience could contribute to a qualification.
Transferring existing Electrical qualifications
City & Guilds, with the agreement of SummitSkills has identified the connections between the 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma and the 2330 City & Guilds Certificate, to enable candidates that have completed their technical certificate to progress onto this qualification, without having to repeat assessment of content they have already undertaken. The amount of coverage differs depending on whether the candidate has undertaken one level, or both levels of 2330.
So the good news is that if you have previously studied at College and achieved the C&G 2330 at level 2 and/or level 3 and now want to continue with your Electrical studies there is a route to completion in place especially designed to suit you. You will not have to start all over again!
Please see our Course Details page for a comprehensive breakdown of your training options, we are confident that we can transfer your Electrical qualifications and skills onto this new QCF Electrical qualification so that you can complete your studies and be several steps closer to becoming a qualified Electrician.
If you would prefer to speak to someone about your options for continuing your Electrical education, please feel free to call us or drop an email to Angela@ableskills.co.uk , it would be helpful if you could provide details of your existing qualifications (scan & email) as we would be able to determine much quicker what options are available to you. Alternatively, please feel free to pay us a visit, we are open 7 days every week between the hours of 08.30 - 16.30 - you do not need to make an appointment, just turn up (with your existing qualifications) and we will work out your Electrical training requirements.
