Able Skills has devised this Victorian Tiling course for tilers who are looking to add a specialist service to provide to their customers.
Designing and planning a Victorian floor can be a complex task so we have devised this course to help you undertake this area of tiling.
The course will take you through planning your floor, installation of your tiles and sealing and cleaning.
We will explain all areas including floor levelling, tile cutting and how to select the right tiles to gain that Victorian effect for your border area and chosen pattern.
Able Skills is offering this course over 3 or 5 days dependant upon your existing experience.
Able Skills Mosaic Tiling Course
Mosaic tiling can add a new look to a home. There are a wide range of types, sizes and finishes available, something to suit everyone.
Able Skills 2 day Mosaic tiling course will teach you how to prepare your surfaces, how to calculate tile quantities and how to cut your tiles. You will learn how to fix your tiles with the correct adhesives according to your tile material and how to grout the tiled area.
This intricate tiling system can produce a beautiful finish once you have learned all of the techniques associated with Mosaic tiling.
Both of these courses are available individually or as a specialist tiling package of courses.

Our instructors have spent many years tiling professionally and are now trained to teach you everything they know. They are honest in their approach and will not let you leave without having ensured you fully understand your tiling requirements. Our reputation is important and when you are running a successful tiling business, you can look back and remember where you learned your trade and be pleased with the fact that you are now of a standard of those who taught you.
Able Skills teaches tiling using the best tools and materials. We arrange demonstrations from tool and adhesive manufacturers and our tiling is done in conjunction with Tile Magic, part of the Travis Perkins Group. This entitles you to apply to open a trade account when you have finished your training. This demonstrates how confident we are that our tiling training will provide you with the skills and confidence to start your own tiling business.
This Victorian Tiling and Mosaic Tiling combination can also be added to our 6 week professional tiling package, should you want to learn an additional skill.
However, should you only be looking to learn tiling for your own personal needs, we offer a 5 day Intensive Tiling course and a 5 day Advanced Tiling course if you want to learn that little bit more.
With the facilities we have we can teach you tanking, floor screeding and tiling using Natural Stone.
If you are looking for a tiling qualification, we have the staff, facilities and Construction Awards Alliance Approval to provide you with an Intermediate Construction Award, a recognised trade qualification which incorporates a CSCS card for successful applicants, providing you access for site work.
If you are already working within the Tiling industry, we can also offer on site assessments for that all important NVQ level 2.
