1 Weekend Tiling Course

At Able Skills we have devised a short weekend training programme for those of you looking to gain some sound DIY tiling skills.

This weekend DIY course is aimed at those of you who have some jobs, repairs or alterations at home which need attending to or for anyone who just wants to gain an insight into tiling.

The DIY courses we offer will provide you with the training you require to make those essential changes, as well as advising you on health and safety and guidance on all tools and materials required to complete tiling jobs to a high standard and safely.

DIY can be dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing and can be costly if you employ the wrong person so this course will encourage DIY enthusiasts to get it right first time and to help you achieve your aims.

DIY Tiling courses are allocated a weekend training slot and you can choose to cover either wall or floor tiling during this time. You will receive tuition from our experienced Tiling instructors Max and Terry who will spend the allotted time giving you training and guidance in order for you to develop enough tiling skills to complete your desired task.

Able Skills has recruited the best staff in all areas of construction, people with years of experience in their specific trade. In addition to this, each member of staff has gained the required qualifications to allow them to teach, assess and internally verify our qualification courses.

These same instructors are available to you for the weekend courses, guaranteeing you a very high standard of tuition.

DIY Tiling Course (Wall or Floor)

This is a hands-on, practical course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout the course. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential. All tools and materials will be provided throughout your training period.

During this 2 day DIY tiling course we will cover as much as we can in the short time you are with us, ensuring that you will be ready to tackle your DIY tiling requirements.

• Setting out your tiling work
• Explaining all the different adhesives used for different surfaces
• Demonstrating all tools required
• Cutting tiles using cutters, scribes, snips and saws
• Tiling difficult areas and surfaces

At the end of your weekend Tiling course you will receive an Able Skills Certificate of completion and the confidence to undertake small areas of tiling.

This weekend course is a fantastic insight into tiling and without a doubt will provide you with the skills and confidence to undertake DIY at home. You will see other tiling tasks being undertaken around the centre so should you want to learn more, you can come back at another time to take on something else.

A weekend of tiling can also be used as a taster course for anyone considering a change of career, so if after this weekend of learning tiling you decide that you would like to learn more or even obtain a qualification in tiling, we can offer you the following:

• 10 Week Level 3 Tiling Qualification

We have various weekend courses available which cater for just about any DIY need so you don’t have to stop at Tiling. At Able Skills you have the opportunity to design your own set of DIY training by mixing subjects and attending in separate weekend periods, this way you can learn a set of skills to suit your own personal needs.

Able Skills is open 7 days every week and most courses can be completed either through the week (Mon-Fri) or at weekends (Sat-Sun) – Please call for details

A deposit will secure your start date and any balance can be paid on the start date or spread over the period of your training – Interest Free!

For all workshop based training and/or assessment we recommend suitable clothing and for your safety, protective footwear is essential.
