Electrical Courses

Able Skills Electrical Courses are City & Guilds Accredited

Able Skills has met many students in what has been almost two decades of providing construction training. Training in one of our Electrical Centres at the moment is student Graham Hutson who is undergoing our 4 week Domestic Installer Course - one of the several Electrical Courses we offer here at Able Skills.

Why?

...Is the first question we asked Graham when having a catch up with him while on his second week of training. He informed us that he wants to self certify his own electrical work as he looks to get his foot in the door with property development. Interestingly enough, Graham actually owned his own I.T. company for 20 years and was very successful having sold the business and to look for a more hands on role. Graham explained that he originally worked for an I.T. company who trained him up from a young age who taught him alot throughout his time there. Ultimately he decided I.T. wasn't for him as he wanted to change careers to something that got him physically active as much as mentally.

How Satisfied is Graham with the course thus far?

Graham immediately responded to the question as 'it's really good'. He explained that he was actually referred to Able Skills Electrical Courses by his cousin who also trained here. He told us his Cousin stated how impressed he was with us, and that's when Graham decided to check out our online presence (our website, social media and Youtube channels).

Graham continued to explain to us how impressed he is with the teaching. He said the instructor is highly knowledgeable and he likes how he can go at his own pace in a relaxed environment. He did actually mention how great the whole class got on and gel together as there are many times where students and instructors can have a joke but stay productive at the same time. Graham said he simply 'can't fault it'.

What are Graham's plans after the course?

He wants to get started on his property and apply what he's learning here straight away. As stated earlier, Graham wants to get into the property development game and plans on wasting no time in utilising what will be his newly founded skills.

Other than that, he did say he would be interested in doing another course with us. He current has his eyes on our Handy Man course which will further enhance his skillset when working on properties.

Graham has come along way in his career which first started out in I.T. Despite being in such industry for 20 years, he told us it wasn't truly for him and that, at heart, he was a far more hands on type of guy. Well if Graham can do so well in something he wasn't particularly fond of, we're interested in watching how well he does with his newly founded career! All the best Graham!
