At Able Skills we have been teaching Electrical courses for 20-years! Over that time there has been many changes in the industry. Nobody could have expected what happened in 2020 but now looking forward the industry is seemingly doing better than ever! Today we are going to look at some key trends within the industry, news and how to get started with a career in the trade.

As you can see we teach hands-on training courses. We focus on helping people become fully-qualified electricians. Becoming an electrician is not easy, however, we try to make the process as simple as possible through clear and concise teaching. Both the theory behind installations and electrical science as well as the hands-on techniques. What we teach has also changed over time as the electrical industry develops over time.

What's going on in 2021?

Now in 2021 we are slowly but surely getting back to normal. Although electricians have been working throughout the pandemic there are definitely more opportunities out there as thing re-open. Additionally, the government has said it will encourage increased use of small and medium sized contractors on public sector projects, providing new opportunities for many electrical contractors.

There will be many opportunities in in the industry for electricians at every level and role. For example, SMART meters will be installed in every home and many buildings will incorporate remote control monitoring with high speed internet allowing specialist centres to take charge of this on behalf of occupants.

On a domestic level, people are willing to spend money on home-improvements. After spending more time than ever at home there is a huge increase in demand for domestic upgrades, repairs and maintenance. According to Vanorama odd-jobs and quick fixes that have been keeping tradespeople busy

We know 2021 will have its own challenges and COVID will continue to be one of them. But there is an air of optimism as commercial businesses start to operate they will require the services of well trained electricians. This is also a great time to gain new skills as consumer demand changes.

In fact, It can be expected that demand for electricians will exceed supply and it will be harder for unskilled electricians to operate. Gaining skills either online or at a centre will be the key to success in 2021. If you are looking for electrical training to kick-start a career or gain some advanced skills a reputable centre like us here at Able Skills will increase your potential for earnings.
