Andrew during his Gas Course

As August came to an end it meant time for our monthly prize draw to pick our ‘Student of the Month’. This month’s lucky winner was current electrical student, Andrew Fleming and he will now have the option to use his voucher for a course or a set of tools.

Each month we are now drawing out a name from the hat of students that have trained with us in that month. This is to give something back to our students and to give them a great start with their new skills and even their new career. Andrew was shocked and extremely proud to be chosen as student of the month.

Andrew Fleming has just completed his gas training at Able Skills, along with this he completed his Plumbing qualification before that. These training courses are just the start for Andrew as he looks for a completely new career in the industry.

Starting with the City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing course and moving onto the Gas, Andrew made the perfect start to his new career. He then enrolled on to the City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course to take his new career in further. Andrew formally owned a Catering company, however, he decided it was time for a change and is now in the process of training and setting up his new business.

Every tutor Andrew has had during his time at Able Skills so far have had nothing but great words to say about him. And Andrew has had some great words about his time so far at Able Skills:

“I have undertaken a number of courses at Able Skills and I think that I made the right choice in choosing them. From the off set the office team were very helpful in understanding my goal and which course to choose.

Having completed two of these courses now, I can say that they are very well structured and balanced and if you are willing to put the work and study in you can achieve good grades and come away feeling confident that you start in the work place. The Tutors are experienced and have a wealth of knowledge and combined with their personalities all makes the learning experience a good one. I know that whilst I have a lot more to learn on the job, I have got a thoroughly foundation from Able Skills.

The classrooms and workshops are very well laid out and the facilities provided are just what you need - the accommodation makes it great for those of us that live far away.

In a nutshell - if you are thinking about a career change or learning a new trade - then give Able Skills a go - you will need to study and work hard but your efforts will be rewarded. If you think you can stroll in and everything is done for you- then don't waste time - they will most definitely help those that want to learn and succeed.

We would like to wish Andrew the best of luck in his new career and hope he achieves his goals!
