The importance of 18th Edition!

The 18th Edition has updated standards in line with the latest advances in technology, including updates to technical data. These updates will have a direct impact on making installations safer. In addition, the 18th Edition contains a new appendix on energy efficiency, reflecting the country’s need to reduce the overall consumption of energy. For electricians to be ready for January, it is important to get to grips with the changes now.

From January, anyone applying for an Installation or Maintenance Electrician gold card for the first time will be required to sign up to Registered Electrician status and be qualified to the 18th Edition. Keep in mind that it’s not just electricians who need an understanding of 18th Edition. Installers involved with any aspect of electrical installations should also have a comprehensive knowledge – this includes gas engineers and kitchen fitters.

Our 18th Edition Course:

This course is entirely classroom-based, it introduces wiring regulations and covers their application through explanation and worked examples. We will ensure that you are fully prepared for the City & Guilds 18th Edition test which is a 2-hour multiple-choice, on-line examination. The exam is 'open book', meaning that you will be able to look up wiring regs and refer to the 18th edition book during the exam process.
