Gas courses

Here is one of our Gas instructors Richard giving a student some 1 on 1 advice.

What does the package include?

The course is 7-weeks in total. The course will be taught in a way that will give you both knowledge and practical ability through your time being split between a classroom setting and working in our training centre on your practical skills. Kinesthetic learning is one of the best ways to understand what you are doing, getting stuck in and learning hands-on is highly beneficial. That is why we have set-up individual work stations so that you can develop your ability and become familiar with tools, appliances and methods.

Of course, health & safety is extremely important in Gas training and that is why it is one of the first aspects we will go over during your time of this Gas course. Here are just some of the sections we will be looking at over the 7-weeks:

  • Training on aspects of health and safety-relevant within the gas industry, including asbestos awareness
  • Training to work safely around electrical systems
  • Training in the use of copper and low carbon steel so that your pipe skills are established at an acceptable standard.
  • Training on heating controls, Airing cupboard and radiator installation practices
  • Training in all areas of domestic gas safety

At the end of the course...There will be written exams and practical assessments throughout the 7 weeks. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be provided with a Bpec Foundation Portfolio and guidance for completion.
