Here at Able Skills, we aim to provide comprehensive, effective and useful training week on week. There is always something going on here no matter the day, weather or time of year we are open and teaching students valuable trades and this week is no different... Let's take a look at some of the courses starting this Monday!
Starting this week!
18th Edition:
Of course, firstly, we have to talk about the 18th edition, we are constantly teaching the latest wiring regulations to our students. Our course is a 3-day classroom-based course that focuses on helping you to gain familiarity with the layout, content and application of the wiring regulations. Our instructors know this book inside out and will help you to understand how to navigate the book itself and how to implement these ideas into your daily work.

The 18th edition course is aimed at practising electricians, electrical contractors and those who require to have a good working knowledge of BS 7671. At the end of the 3-day period, you will take an online exam here at our training centre to prove that you have understood what you've learnt and that you can demonstrate that knowledge.
Home-study Electrical Courses:
This week students are also coming in to complete the practical and exam period of their home-study level 2 & Level 3 courses. YES...You read that correctly 'home-study' here at Able Skills, we know it can be difficult to commit to a full-time course so we have devised some alternative training methods. One of which is the home-study option which allows you to learn the theory side of the course in your own time with the provided materials, then book in time for practical learning and examinations. Students this week are starting their first week of practical learning and getting stuck in with some hands-on experience. We will provide you with a 'home-study pack' and access to the online learning platform 'SmartScreen'. These two in conjunction should be enough for you to learn and understand the required theory.

Gas courses:
This week we also have students starting on their 7-week Gas packages. Here at Able Skills, we have designed Gas courses specifically for new entrants! Our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2, for example, is the absolute best way to start in this trade, providing you will all of the essential skills to become a Gas Engineer including a 7-week training programme, portfolio completion and an ACS assesment!
