Plastering Courses in London

Able Skills started out all those years ago as a dedicated plastering training centre, so it’s fair to say that when it comes to putting plaster on walls, we know what we’re talking about.

From the very first course we ran we knew we were onto something and the range and diversity of our training programmes has grown from strength to strength since then. However, we still have a soft spot for plastering, where it all began, and our plastering courses in London aim to offer the very best training in the business.

Our courses

Our most popular course is still the five-day practical hands-on training but we also offer a wide selection of courses to progress skills. Our courses are designed to both earn students qualifications and establish them in the business. Our plastering course London centre offers several accredited C&G qualifications, including the 4555. So you will receive a C&G certification at the end of the programme. There’s also an advanced plastering course and internal and external wall insulation training available.

The courses last for different amounts of time depending on what’s being taught. Our aim is always for students to learn as much as possible in the given time, and our experienced instructors are always keen to pass on their years of experience to willing students.

The introductory plastering course will give beginners a great grounding in a range of skills, including cutting and fixing board, taping joints and preparing surfaces before plastering. You’ll learn what you need to know about mixing plaster, skimming, ceilings and applying PVA adhesive to existing surfaces. The advanced course builds on these skills, working on skimming ceilings, plastering reveals, bonding out and rendering.

The qualifications

As well as C&G certification, we can also help plasterers to work towards their NVQ qualifications. We specialise in training towards an NVQ level 3 and for plasterers with over five years of experience, there is an in-house CITB accredited route to a level 2. This is what is known as the EWPA route.

We take all our courses very seriously and will adapt them to meet the needs of the students. We’re even open at weekends so that you can train without having to sacrifice working hours. Our courses are all as affordable as possible too.

Our plastering courses London centre is ideally located for anyone who lives in and around the capital. With great transport links and a huge selection of stand-alone, intensive and bespoke courses, Able Skills is the place to come for plasterers.
