This City & Guilds accredited level 2 Diploma is a real mix of practical and theory-based assessments; a great opportunity for those of you looking to come straight in at level 2. This course is ideal for those of you who already have a good understanding of the construction industry, specifically plastering, and who want to build on that further.
This level 2 Diploma from City and Guilds is an excellent opportunity for those of you looking at a change of career to become Plasterers.
You will be trained and assessed to achieve the following units:
Health, safety and welfare in construction
Principles of building construction, information and communication
Apply plastering materials to interiors
Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors
Laying sand and cement screeds
Applying plastering materials to external backgrounds
The course will teach both internal and external plastering and you will learn about preparation as well as application. This is a very in-depth course and the aim is to get you to a stage whereby you can competently enter the industry and start earning an income as a Plasterer.
You will be trained over a 10-week period (50 days) and the training will be predominantly practical. The intention for us is not just to get you to the point of being able to pass assessments; it’s to ensure that the skills you achieve here are transferrable to industry.
This course will require a fair bit of home study commitment from you as there are also theory-based assessments required in order to complete this course and you will be provided with resources to help you undertake revision in order to complete these assessments. This will be sent to you ahead of you attending the centre and you will need to complete the work required for this before you attend the centre for the practical aspects.
Able Skills has been providing plastering training for a number of years now and our centre has grown beyond recognition. Alongside the plastering courses we also offer rendering courses.
This is a hands-on, practical plastering course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.

Location
All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.
