acsRewind back to 2012 and you will see Matthew Clark walking into Able Skills for the first time as he begins his journey towards a new career. Starting with us on his New Entrants Gas Course and then eventually passing his ACS assessment.

Matthew was previously a printer for the Daily Mail, however, after being made redundant he decided it was the perfect opportunity to start something new. He had done the same job for a long time and he thought to himself why not do something he will enjoy, and he then stumbled across our Gas Courses at Able Skills.

Training with us in 2012, Matthew was taught by long serving Gas Instructor, Ian. He taught him everything he needed to know, and Matthew was so please and was full of praise for Ian.

His training continued into 2013 and in this time, he completed his portfolio and came back to complete his ACS, which he successfully passed. It was then time for Matthew to go out and start his new career in the industry.

Since 2013, Matthew has gone on leaps and bounds and is thoroughly enjoying his new career. He planned to go out alone, but initially started working with someone to gain valuable experience with an experienced Gas Engineer. Matthew then began sub-contracting and was starting to enjoy his new career and being very successful in the process. Also, he is now in with a letting agency that has given him a constant stream of work. He recommended this process to many others because of it has done him so well.

Five years down the line and Matthew is back at Able Skills for his ACS Re-Assessment. When being a Gas Safe Engineer you will need to renew your ACS every five years and Matthew is one of many that choose to re-assess with us at Able Skills.

We are so happy to hear Matthew is enjoying his new career and we would like to wish him the very best for the future!
