Course details

The City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 electrical course is industry recognised and the starting point for anyone who is seriously looking to re-train as an Electrician. This particular study option is based on a mixture of theory and practical; the theory part you will do at home, in your own time and the practical aspect you will do with us in our training centre. The flexibility this training route provides is excellent, no pressure or stress, just learning at your own pace.

By training to be an electrician from home, candidates will learn to develop and practice the skills required for employment and a career in the electrical industry.

To start your electrical home study course we will send you a Level 2 - 2365 course study pack which will contain all of the theory knowledge units that you are required to achieve in order to gain the qualification. Also contained within the pack are self-assessment papers allowing you as the candidate to monitor your progress along the way. In addition to the pack, we will also provide you with the associated City & Guilds reference book as well as access to Smartscreen – a City and Guilds online learning/assessment resource.

It is important that you utilise the pack well and complete the study as this will help you to understand the practical aspects when you are here but more so, the whole point of the pack is to help you get through the online exams which you will also undertake when you attend the training centre.

We have a 4 week practical program devised specifically to cover the requirements of all of the practical aspects of the qualification; we have identified a number of weeks throughout the year for each of the 4 weeks and we will provide you with a timetable of all of the dates. Just choose the weeks you would like to attend, call us and we will book you in.

Ideally, we would prefer that you spend at least 6 weeks reviewing the home study electrician pack before you consider attending for your first block of practical training.

By undertaking this ‘Home Study’ electrical course, you are effectively replacing your access to an instructor in a classroom environment with a home learning theory pack. As this is the case, we have put together very comprehensive study packs to ‘replace the tutor’ allowing you to study your electrician course at home. However, please be aware that should you fail an exam at the centre, we do offer a free re-sit – hopefully this will take the pressure off if you feel that you haven’t devoted enough time to the home learning. We will also provide email contact with one or more of our electrical assessors in case you have any questions not covered in the pack. Once you are ready to attend the centre, all you will need is protective footwear as all other essential tools and materials will be provided for you. Weeks 1 – 4 are structured very well and have a natural progression to get you to the final practical assessments.

All in all, this is ideal for anyone who has commitments which prevent full or part time attendance.
