Able Skills has just had approval to move our Introductory Courses from the previous 4555 suite to the City & Guilds Assured Certification Programme. Our Introduction to Bricklaying is the perfect starting point to anyone looking at a career in bricklaying. You can use this to start training in any of our bricklaying courses.

Assured is a joint service between City & Guilds and ILM which recognises excellence in training providers own in-house training programmes. This programme will give students the confidence and reassurance that the training being provided meets best practice standards.

To be awarded with Assured status as a centre, you need to meet 5 core components from City & Guilds. These include; Design & Delivery, Planning & Management, Employee Support, Quality Assurance and Evaluation and Continuous Development. You can see more about the assured programme here: City & Guilds Assured.assured

Across our short construction courses, we have been awarded with the Assured Programme which includes the 5 days of training available in our bricklaying centre. The Introduction to Bricklaying course is one of our most popular short courses available here at our Dartford centre. Here is what you can expect to learn in our centre.

  • Health & Safety and PPE
  • Setting out building lines
  • Build a corner, a pillar, a pier and a cavity wall
  • Pointing for face work
  • How to put in a damp course

Completing this training with us will allow you to move onto much bigger bricklaying courses with us. The great asset of the assured programmes is you can use the week of training to upgrade to a qualification course with further weeks of training with us. We run a variation of bricklaying courses from City & Guilds Qualifications and Diplomas to NVQs.

If you want to try out our bricklaying courses, the assured programme is the one for you. Call 01322 280 202 today for more information on how to upgrade this course for our qualification courses.
