The benefits of electrical courses have been underlined recently, as a bakery received a significant fine from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for not following official guidance.

Genaro Saiano and Dejan Durkin, company directors of DG Bakery in Bedfordshire, failed to comply with HSE notices, which were issued to prevent workers from being exposed to flour dust and the possibility of electrocution.

This case underlines the worth of the expertise gained from electrical courses and the industry body has warned other businesses that it intends to widen its search for people contravening safety regulations in this area.

HSE inspector Emma Rowlands remarked: "This case has shown the importance of maintaining equipment in a safe condition and the HSE is planning a series of inspections in the county for later in 2010."

Electrician training courses could also a boost in demand around Derby, after Balfour Beatty won a £220 million contract to build schools in the region, according to Building.co.uk.
