A plumber was happy to help out on BBC programme DIY SOS recently, but the shoddy workmanship that he had to repair shows the importance of hiring a qualified engineer who has completed plumbing courses to begin with.

Andy Shrimpton, a member of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering's (CIPHE's) Register of Heating Professionals, took part in Chessington's - The Big Build, to fix various issues during a ten-day makeover in the town.

"I live just round the corner from the family and was happy to offer my assistance. I believe it is important to be part of the local community I serve," he stated.

Chief executive of the CIPHE Blane Judd explained that he was delighted to recommend Mr Shrimpton to the television station, as he knows he is a qualified professional who has taken the necessary plumbing courses.

Chessington - The Big Build saw Nick Knowles help a woman and her son transform a building site into a working home, making allowances for her child, who has special needs.
