Carpentry Courses: More dates available in January

Due to a high demand for our carpentry courses here at Able Skills we have added more dates into the diary for this January. Lots of people are choosing carpentry as a new career in the new year.

With our carpentry courses filling up fast, putting more dates in the diary meant more students could come to Able Skills and start their new careers. We now have three fantastic, full time carpentry instructors that are dedicated to giving the best possible training to their students and passing on their years’ worth of knowledge and experience.

The skills shortage is still ongoing in the construction industry and more Carpenters are needed. In a recent survey, it showed that Carpenters, along with Bricklayers are the hardest skilled workers to employ as there simply isn’t enough of them.

Students at Able Skills have seen the opportunity to gain a successful new career as a Carpenter, so they have booked onto one of our longer qualification courses to get the skills they need. Also, lots of people take our carpentry courses because they can take their skills around the world.

However, we don’t only offer long qualification courses here at Able Skills, we also offer our very popular short DIY courses. Our five day Introduction to Carpentry course is very popular amongst people who are looking for a basic skill set or looking to complete a personal project.

Along with our carpentry courses, we also offer joinery courses up in our carpentry centre. These are very popular and many of our students will book one of our carpentry and joinery combined packages.

If you are looking to begin a new career as a Carpenter there are a few routes you can take, however, one of the most popular starting points is with the City & Guilds Carpentry course.

Depending on their future goal, some will even go onto the NVQ qualification so they can get a CSCS card to allow them to work on-site. We also offer the on-site assessments that are needed for our students to achieve the NVQ.

Our carpentry courses are available on a full-time option and we also offer weekend training options for those people who have other commitments. We have more full-time dates for January now available here.
