There could be new interest in bricklaying courses in the future after a team of construction and design workers won a silver medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Mike Burdett, a tutor in York College's construction department, led the group for the exhibit, which was aimed at showing the variety of talents required to create and design a top class garden, according to the York Press.

After being handed the accolade, he explained that all the workers on his team had taken bricklaying courses or other training with him and he has been hugely impressed at the knowledge they have gained.

Mr Burdett told the publication: "The team all worked really hard to create the garden and are all really proud of what we have managed to achieve."

Chelsea Flower Show is an annual event that this year took place from May 25th to 29th and sees awards handed out to the finest gardens on show.
