Able Skills has just had approval to move our Introductory Courses from the previous 4555 suite to the City & Guilds Assured Certification Programme. Our Introduction to Decorating is the perfect starting point to any of our decorating courses and the Assured certification offers great recognition of the course.
Assured is a joint service between City & Guilds and ILM which recognises excellence in training providers own in-house training programmes. This programme will give students the confidence and reassurance that the training being provided meets best practice standards.
To be awarded with Assured status as a centre, you need to meet 5 core components from City & Guilds. These include; Design & Delivery, Planning & Management, Employee Support, Quality Assurance and Evaluation and Continuous Development. We have now been able to move our Introduction courses to the assured programme, including our extremely popular 5 day Decorating Course.
The 5 days of training in our well-equipped decorating centre has grown in popularity year on year and now with City & Guilds Assured status we expect it to get even more popular. Over the 5 days you can expect to cover a range of decorating tasks that include:
- Health & Safety and PPE
- How to prepare areas before painting including repairing imperfections
- Apply water and oil-based products using brushes and rollers
- How to cut around obstructions, openings and fittings
- How to properly cut, paste and hang wallpaper
The beauty of this programme, along with the City & Guilds Certification, is that it’s the perfect taster for someone looking to start a new career as a Painter & Decorator. This course allows you to upgrade to our qualification decorating courses if you wish. We offer full City & Guilds and NVQ Decorating Courses where you can gain industry recognised qualifications. If you start with the one-week course, it allows you to upgrade to the longer programmes without having to do that first week again.
