gibraltarOver the past year and a half, we have had two students come to Able Skills to complete their electrical training, however, they aren’t your regular students. They have come all the way from Gibraltar several times to complete their training.

Jordan and Zhane were both enrolled onto the Home Study Electrical Courses by their company, Techtrolec. Travelling from Gibraltar to and from Gibraltar to complete the practical aspects of their course and have completed both the City & Guilds Level 2 & Level 3 qualifications. They are now almost complete with their electrical training and will soon be fully qualified Electricians. They are now working on the electrical NVQ and our NVQ assessor Clive will be flying out to Gibraltar to undergo their site assessments.

Earlier in 2018 Clive travelled out to see Jordan and Zhane and carry out their first practical assessments and successful completed this. Clive is now looking forward to another trip out to Gibraltar to complete their final site assessment.

After a long training journey, including lots of hard work and travelling, Jordan and Zhane are nearing the end and will soon be fully qualified as Electricians. The company they work for, Techtrolec, have been very pleased with their training and wanted Clive to come over and complete their site assessments for them to achieve the electrical NVQ with Able Skills due to the training they had previously received.

Towards the end of this year Jordan will be the first one back at Able Skills as he plans to take his AM2 with us. He is looking at August or September and will closely be followed by Zhane.

Both have changed their careers completely so much so that Jordan moved over to Gibraltar from the UK after being a Mechanic.

Throughout their time training with us they have been staying in our accommodation and this has allowed them to focus on their training and help each other get through the course. They both described that doing it together has really given them a boost especially at the harder times of the course.

Jordan and Zhane coming from Gibraltar just shows that we have students coming to train with us from all over the world, whether it is from Europe of the other side of the globe, they come here to train.

We would like to wish Jordan and Zhane the best of luck in their final site assessments and hope to see them again soon here at Able Skills for their AM2.
