Construction has begun on the New Gas Centre!

We are growing yet again at Able Skills and this time we are expanding our gas training facilities.

Due to us being fully booked months in advance for our gas training courses at Able Skills, we have now started construction on a brand new gas centre. This will allow us to offer more gas courses on a regular basis and to accommodate for the extra demand of students wanted to train as Gas Engineers.

The Gas Industry is very important due to the dangers in can bring to people and their homes. If people aren’t getting the right training or qualifications they will be carrying out illegal gas work and it could lead to them getting a prison sentence.

It is a very serious trade because if the unqualified ‘gas engineers’ carry out work on gas appliances in people’s homes it is classed as illegal work. Even worse it can be very dangerous and has awful possibilities, for example it puts people at risk of carbon monoxide leaks, fires and gas explosions. It has been known to injure and even kill people in the past.

So getting the right training and becoming a Gas Safe Engineer is vitally important to make sure they carry out safe and legal gas work. Our new centre will allow us to make sure even more people are getting the best gas training to be able to go out and work safely and legally within the industry.

The work for the new centre is fully underway with some of our bricklaying NVQ students out to help and work towards their NVQs in the process. Everyone that is working on the new centre is putting in a fantastic shift and they are well on their way for the September opening.stevebrickie

In September the centre will open to a group of hopeful gas engineers to start their training from a week of pipe skills training to then three weeks of gas training. After this they will then go out and complete their gas portfolios.
