CORGI Technical Services has developed and launched a new course to allow professionals to develop their skills in the safe management of gas within the facilities and estate management arena.

The course was developed following the highly successful Gas Safety Management in Social Housing course, which – like the new facilities and estate-focused course – is aimed at professional managers within the sector.

The distance learning-based package focuses largely on assignments that can be completed flexibly over a 12-month period. The course covers six primary areas of gas safety management: gas safety in facilities management; industrial gas appliances, meters and pipework; commercial catering installations and appliances; flueing and ventilation of industrial commercial gas appliances; combustion and carbon monoxide; and gas safety legislation.

Every participant who signs up for the course will be assigned a designated CORGI mentor, who will aid with enquiries and questions and help to support and guide them through the course. Each course will begin with a one-day, in-person seminar with other participates, held at a number of locations around the country.

The Gas Safety Management in Facilities and Estate Management course is aimed at professional managers that have responsibility for gas management at large facilities, including organisations that have mixed domestic or commercial applications, such as public sector establishments like prisons and hospitals.
